an episode at the bank update

A couple of weeks ago I described my frustration at the policy of my bank to 'bus' the queue rather than opening another till position. In the intervening weeks I've had a repeat performance with the same woman but today, today!, today things were different.

As I joined the queue for a cashier three out of four windows were being used, two by the regular cashiers and the third by the woman who I'd argued with previously!!! Have I made a difference? Who knows whether it was my persistence or not but I will claim it as a victory.

What made my day though was having a mouthed exchange with one of the regular cashiers.. .. ..

Me: She's opened a till

Cashier: Mananger

Next time that she comes out to 'bus' the queue not only have I seen her operating a till (which she could, as a manager, have done previously) but also the knowledge that she is part of the management team of that branch allows me far more scope for mischief .. .. ..
