borrowers face £1000 mortgage fees

What do you do when you realise that your hole in the skirting board isn't large enough for your rapidly growing family? Relocate to a larger home of course. Now though, according to the Telegraph, you might be facing a large bill even if your application is unsuccessful.
Borrowers face charges of £1,000 for booking a mortgage even if their application is rejected, new research warns. It suggests as many as one in five lenders charge non-refundable booking fees on some of their mortgages even if a borrower is unsuccessful with the application.
Just be careful that you don't get squashed by the rejection letter.

Same old scam as non-refundable letting fees from Estate Agents but it only takes one not to thus charge and the market does the rest.
