cakes by text service starts

Young people in Newcastle can now receive cakes in the post by sending a text from their mobile phone. Newcastle's cake team started the service to encourage people under 25 to get themselves stuffed to the eyeballs with confection.

People needing doughnuts receive a home delivery by texting "fatter" to 80010 from their phone.

The pastry team has also created a website that has more information about the recipes.

Simon Shaw, croissant programme advisor, said: "Cake is easy, and to avoid any embarrassment, young people can order a home service, eat the slab themselves and then just sit back."
