A review of speed limits in Jersey has been described as "wholly inadequate" by Deputy Daniel Wimberley.I'm assuming that Deputy Wimberly wanted either no change or a reduction in speed limits which is why he's upset at the findings.
Currently the limit in many tiny lanes is 15mph, but the review panel is calling for it to be raised to 20mph. The panel's findings showed 67% of the public wanted the speed increased on Jersey's green lanes. The group suggested the general maximum limit for cars remains at 40mph, but in built up areas and on roads with no centre white line it should be 30mph.

The sensible speed limit is the one wherby you do not crash. My satnav tries to send me cross-country because there is a default speed limit of 60mph on the country lanes even though to do so is simply not possible. Everybody knows that and there are surprisingly few speed related accidents on those roads otherwise we would all be dead ( like the reckless boy-racers who frequently are, thus removing themselves from the gene pool ).
