no pride in winter

From the BBC
Brighton's Winter Pride week has been called off for 2010 as part of a series of cost-cutting measures designed to balance the Pride charity's books. The organisation has also said it will be unable to make cash grants to community lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) groups this year.
One thing I can't help noticing, and pointing out yet again, is that the organisation is no longer called Gay Pride yet exclusively is aimed at supporting LGBT causes.
It is also considering fencing Preston Park during the summer festival and asking for donations at entry points. Pride has said it faces a deficit of £50,000 unless cuts are made. Financial losses last year were blamed on appalling weather, higher running costs and the recession.

Chair Yvonne Barker said the idea of fencing Preston Park was being discussed but there would not be an entry charge. "It is about steering people to entry points to encourage everybody to contribute to the significant cost of putting on Pride every year."
So lots of people come to a free party, many drink large quantities of alcohol, many take handfuls of drugs, then party all night but don't want to contribute towards the cost of the celebration? I'm guessing they aren't that proud then.
