cranbrook newsletter (additional) dec 09

It is our sad duty to inform all parents that the rumours that one or more of the students had taken legal drugs are true. We at the school treat these matters with the highest of importance and after a thorough investigation we have identified the three culprits. They will be suspended until we return after the Christmas break. We hope to draw a line under this incident but be in no doubt that a repeat offence will lead to permanent exclusion.

The School has a long and proud tradition that lead to our being twinned with our sister college in Columbia. Our allotment has benefited from their crop management skills while our chemists are held in high regard by the faculty there. I'm extremely disappointed that these boys did not consider the ramifications of their actions on this intercontinental partnership.

As a matter of high priority our Drug Intervention Support Coordinator will be arranging extra lessons for all pupils to explain the consequences of these potentially unsafe, untested legal highs while our Social Welfare Support Officer will be hosting two assemblies for the whole student body exploring the dangers of such action. "Don't act like you attend a fucking comprehensive school" will be complemented by "Privilege and drugs; partners for life".

I hope that this puts an end to this sorry saga. If I may once again wish you all the the happiest of Christmases and I look forward to seeing you all on the first day of the new term next year.
