The ticket allocation policy of Top Gear is thus:

It's worth remembering we can't allow you into the studio if you're under 18 years of age.

We also ask that groups of people coming to the recordings have a roughly 50/50 male/female split. This is so we don't end up with a bunch of ugly male car geeks ruining everyone's Sunday night.

But apparently that's homophobic because gay men do not have female friends. Or sisters. Or know any lesbians. That doesn't deter Stonewall from flapping around in outrage though

Last night, Ben Summerskill, chief executive of gay rights charity Stonewall, said of the ticket ruling: “It’s very odd, but what do you expect from pigs that grunt? Regrettably, with Jeremy Clarkson involved, it’s not surprising. The show itself is full of stereotyping of both men and women – but it’s funded by gay and lesbian licence fee cash as well as everyone else’s.

Pigs that grunt? What the fuck are you on about? Don't mince your words Ben, come out and say exactly what you mean.

“Arguably, this is a breach of the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2005.”

Do you mean the The Employment Equality (Sex Discrimination) Regulations 2005 or the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulation 2003? Neither seem to cover the distribution of free tickets for a TV show to me.

Even if they do the 50/50 male/female split applies to every group requesting (the heavily over-subscribed) tickets irrespective of sexual orientation. Do you hear quartets of single straight men (or women) complaining? No. Please just piss off and stop trying to justify the government funding your 'charity' receives.
