playground scuffle

Nick Clegg will accuse Labour and the Conservatives of election campaigns based on "playground politics and make-believe economics" in a speech later. He's extremely upset because if the other two parties focus on these strategies it renders useless the edgy campaign he had planned to run.

With no actual chance of forming the next government the Lib Dem's main ambition is to grab as many headlines as possible by announcing a raft of make-believe policies and tax breaks that make Gordon Brown's decisions as Chancellor seem sane. With Labour and the Tories controlling this 'central ground' Clegg will have few options remaining open to him in his effort to get himself noticed.

Unofficial sources confirm that Jo Swinson has a few more totally hatstand ideas that are currently being discussed with party leaders.
