Chinese authorities have recognised their country's most prolific internet porn surfer with a special award this week. Yu Wan Kee, a student from the Ti Chu province was presented with a trophy and a cheque for 10,000 yuan (£3.50) for his heroic efforts.

Mrs Yu is extremely proud of her son's achievement. Her words were translated for us by a local party official. "I am extremely proud that the glorious Chinese government has honoured my family, this whole province, with this recognition. It affirms my conviction that our benevolent leaders' decision to monitor all internet traffic benefits the whole country."

The competition was stiff to become the Top Chinese Porn Surfer. Many of the 620,000 young men who entered were forced to abandon prematurely when their mothers came home unexpectedly.

Mr Yu is expected to join other national champions in the international "Jerk-Off" being held later this year.
