register

From the beginning of next month all tower block residents will be required to attend registration twice a day to show that they are present. Residents who repeatedly miss the register will be put on detention, or even face exclusion, unless they can produce a note from their mum explaining why. Elevator Misuse Allowance payments may be affected.

Each tower block will have a government appointed Registration Officer and also one Hall Monitor for every 10 floors. The residents will be encouraged to report their activities and movements to their appointed officers to prevent another tragedy.

The newly appointed Minister for High-Rise Multi-Occupancy Dwellings welcomed the new initiative. "Tower Block Performance league tables will be published to encourage under performing residences to improve" he said. "This is about sharing best practice to ensure we are the world leaders for tower blocks."
