taskforce

A government task force set up by Gordon Brown has spent nearly £100,000 has managed to recommend that the government implement initiatives that it already did 2 years previously.

One of the senior under ministers from the Ministry of Wasteful Spending has welcomed the news. "This goes to show just how little we can achieve with massive resources at our disposal. We will of course be implementing all of the recommendations in the report from the taskforce once we have convened a committee to study them."

A junior over minister from the Ministry of Frivolous Spending taunted opposition parties by challenging their budgetary manifesto commitments. "If elected the opposition parties have said they would cut public spending. If that happens vital front line services, like this taskforce, would be lost."

The senior permanent under secretary from the Ministry of Missed Targets also added "This is yet another success for this ministry. Once again we have, through the sterling work of the taskforce, missed another target that we set for ourselves to achieve. I'd like to personally congratulate everyone involved with the project for their hard work in missing the unmissable."
