mission

Somalia is to close its humanitarian missions to Europe and recall all of the staff home. The move comes after the prolonged financial crisis in Europe.

"We've done everything we can to try to help Europe in this time of need" said senior mission leader Ali Ahmed Jama Jengeli "but we are not a bottomless resource and the time has come for these countries to take control of their own economies. These cash strapped countries must come up with a way to generate an income rather than relying on our generosity."

The UN have supported the withdrawal. It is believed that the recent outbreak of national leaders strutting around the world, pretending to do something, has enraged senior figures within the UN hierarchy. The feeling is that national leaders should take care of their own affairs.
