the great repeal bill

Dick Cleggeron has announced an internet based public consultation for what we want to be included in the great repeal bill. I've been having a look through some of the suggestions for laws that should be repealed and, well, some people are just too fucking stupid to understand what the word repeal means.

I want to cry.

There were some on 5 live this morning who also seemed to misunderstand the entire point of the exercise. Instead of talking of laws to repeal, callers thought it was an opportunity to ban their pet hate.

We have one hell of a lot of miserable, authoritarian cunts in this country, eh?

I have added my comment. (That you can't ban something by repealing a law).

One encouraging sign is that the website is collapsing under the weight of traffic - I've only managed to get registered and make a comment and vote on one topic/subtopic so far.

And I suspect Clegg knows that and will play on it.

Disappointing - yes. Unexpected - no, not after the last 13 years.
