the nhs

Earlier this week I took my daughter for a follow up appointment for an eye injury. We arrived 10 minutes early for her appointment which was scheduled for 2:10pm. At a few minutes after 4pm we were ushered into the consultant's room where he spent exactly 5 minutes examining her eye and giving her the all-clear. At her previous appointment we had a similar length of time hanging around waiting.

If we'd turned up two hours late for the appointment we would have been scolded and sent away so why is it acceptable to keep us hanging around in a waiting room for so bloody long?

The answer is very simple: you are worthless. The Great God NHS is All Important.

Or, as any economist will tell you, things that are charged at less than their cost will be consumed very inefficiently.

The NHS charges less than it costs, so is consumed inefficiently by legions of malingerers demanding 'My Rights Innit?'.

You are charging your time at less than it costs while sitting in the waiting room (you are charging zero), so your time is consumed very inefficiently.

ZaNu Labour's pathetic attempts at remedying these fundamental defects were as successful as policy changes in any other command economy (i.e. not at all).

We're not worthy. Didn't you know?

That is 'free at the point of use'.

Could be worse I suppose. Living in the USA and getting no free healthcare.

The NHS is NOT free, how hard is that for some people to understand..

If you turn up half an hour late for an appointment (even if you've spent the time driving round and round the hospital car park) you're told to go away, because you're too late.

@Gordon ....
Hence the quotes.

why are they allowed toget away with this?

Because you are nothing to them other than a "mark" whose pocket can be picked gor more cash whenever they feel like it. Why should they give a flying fig about you? They'll get their pay and fat pension not matter what they do to/for you.

Until the NHS is history and we pay directly for our own health care nothing will change.

Because it's a socialist organisation and it is managed entirely for the convenience of the producers. The convenience of the customers is not an issue in any way or at any time.

Next question?
