the student brewer speaks up. again.

If Jack has £1 to spend on alcohol, at the moment he'd go to the supermarket. He can't afford the £3 in a pub. Put the prices up in the supermarket to £1.50 - he can't drink. But he still wouldn't be spending money in a pub - so how the hell does reducing disposable income of customers help pubs?

To be fair the minimum prices suggested are only tax plus VAT.

That said, I don't think there should be any...

Hey BW .. .. they're only duty + VAT for now .. .. .. but you only have to look at how sharply minimum wage rose to see what could happen once the mechanism is in place.... ....
