My brother, a very long time ago, totalled his car whilst drunk . (no one else involved just couple of metres of crash barrier)
Afterwards he was told by Police that if he hadn't had been so drunk and not wearing his seatbelt, he would have definitely been killed.
so not wearing a seatbelt saves lives as well
Admittedly if he had not been drunk he wouldn't have crashed, but still eh?
I really do believe that. Drunks often fall in a different way and absorb trauma better. Very interesting stuff and I'll post on it.
