offensive!

I'm trying to get my head around this so bear with me ..... if the joke was so offensive as to attract criticism why has The Argus reproduced it in full? Is it to cause more offence? Is it to show how vile Jimmy Carr is? I'm not sure I understand their motivation or stance ....

"But", I hear you cry, "you've uploaded a screenshot of the article thus extending the lifespan of the offensive joke!!". Yes I have because I believe that being offended is a basic human right. I'm not sure if his Tweet was either a)funny or b)offensive but there's bound to be someone who will find it one or the other.
