I haven't been closely following the shale gas argument but, it seems to me, that if we have a resource that will provide continual power on demand that seems like a pretty decent way to ensure fuel security. Unlike the haphazard output from wind turbines.
It would seem the proponents of wind power, or "big windmill", are unhappy about the competition.
